What is Perfectionism?

Perfectionism is the tendency to set extremely high standards for ourselves and feel that anything less than “perfect” is a failure. For Muslim women, additional factors such as living up to cultural expectations, family upbringing and the ways in which Islam is taught and implemented, may further amplify feelings of not being enough! Over time, this can lead to burnout, people pleasing, anxiety, depression and low self worth.
