What is Burnout?
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion that develops from prolonged stress. Burnout can look like persistent fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating, feeling detached from loved ones, or a sense of hopelessness about daily responsibilities. Burnout can stem stress related to work, family responsibilities, parenting, caregiving, etc. Traits such as people-pleasing and perfectionism can intensify the experience of burnout. Over time, if left unaddressed, burnout can lead to difficulties with anxiety, depression, and low self-worth.
